Privacy Policy

This policy covers savereel.online and explains how we handle information when you use the downloader. We have tried to describe what actually happens rather than list every possibility, so you can tell what is really being collected.

No account, no media stored

SaveReel does not have user accounts. We never ask for your Instagram or Facebook credentials, and we could not use them if you sent them. We also do not keep the media you download: our server fetches a direct file URL and hands it to your browser, which downloads the file from the platform's own content network. No copy is written to our storage.

What our request logs contain

Each time a link is submitted, our server writes one log entry so we can diagnose failures and detect abuse. That entry holds:

• the link you submitted and which mode you used, such as Reels or Stories
• your IP address
• your browser user-agent string, and the browser, operating system, device type, vendor, model, rendering engine and CPU architecture derived from it
• your Accept-Language header and the referring page, if your browser sent one
• the outcome: status code, result code, how long the request took, how many media items were found, and any error code from the upstream provider
• a timestamp

These logs are used for debugging, abuse prevention and basic reliability monitoring. We do not build advertising or behavioural profiles from them, and we do not sell them.

Third parties we rely on

Media resolver

To find a download URL we pass the link you submitted to a third-party resolving service. That service receives the link and our server's request, but not your IP address, cookies, or browser headers. The final file is then downloaded by your browser straight from Instagram's or Facebook's content delivery network, which means Meta can see that request in the normal way.

Hosting

The site runs on third-party hosting infrastructure, which processes network requests on our behalf and may keep its own short-lived server logs.

Cookies and advertising

SaveReel itself does not set tracking cookies and does not need cookies to work. We do show advertising to keep the service free, and ad providers do use cookies and similar technologies.

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners serve ads to you based on your visits to our site and elsewhere on the internet.
• You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.

Opting out stops ads being personalised. It does not remove advertising altogether.

How long we keep things

Request logs are retained only as long as they are useful for debugging and abuse prevention, and are rotated out after that. Because there are no accounts, there is no stored profile tied to you that could persist beyond those logs.

Children

SaveReel is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your choices

You can use the site without providing any personal detail beyond what your browser sends automatically. If you would like us to delete log entries associated with your IP address, or you want to know what we hold, email us and we will help. Depending on where you live you may also have rights to access, correct or erase personal data, and to object to its processing.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the service handles data, we will update this page and the date at the top. Continuing to use SaveReel after a change means you accept the revised policy.
