How rights holders can report infringement, and what we do about it.

Last updated 3 September 2026

SaveReel respects copyright and responds to properly made complaints. If you own rights in material that our service has been used to copy, the process below is the fastest way to reach us.

What SaveReel actually does

This matters for understanding what we can remove. SaveReel does not host, store or index any media. When someone submits a link, our server looks up a direct file URL and passes it back. The file itself is then transferred from Instagram’s or Facebook’s own content delivery network to that person’s device. We hold no copy, so there is nothing on our servers for us to delete.

What we can do is block specific links, accounts or content identifiers from being processed by our service, and restrict users who repeatedly infringe. If material is still live on Instagram or Facebook, the effective remedy is to report it to Meta as well, since that is where it is hosted.

Sending a notice

Email dmca@savereel.online with the subject line “Copyright Notice”. So that we can act without having to come back to you, please include all of the following:

  • your name, postal address, telephone number and email address, and the rights holder you represent if it is not you
  • a clear identification of the work you say has been infringed, with a link to the original if one exists
  • the specific URL or URLs on Instagram or Facebook that our service has been used to copy, precise enough for us to identify them
  • a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent, or the law
  • a statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and that you are the rights holder or are authorised to act on their behalf, made under penalty of perjury
  • your physical or electronic signature

Incomplete notices slow things down, and a notice missing the sworn statements may not be legally effective. Please also note that knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing can expose you to liability for costs and damages.

What happens next

We aim to acknowledge notices within two to three working days. Where a notice is valid, we will block the identified links or identifiers from our service promptly and confirm to you once that is done. If we think a notice is mistaken or incomplete, we will tell you what is missing rather than simply ignoring it.

Counter-notice

If we have blocked something you believe was lawful, for example your own content or a use covered by fair use or fair dealing, email the same address with a counter-notice. Include your contact details, an identification of what was blocked, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe the block was the result of a mistake or misidentification, and your signature. We will review it and restore access where the counter-notice is well founded.

Repeat infringers

We restrict access for users who repeatedly use SaveReel to infringe copyright, and we may block links or patterns of use associated with that activity.

A note for users

If you are downloading media, the safe rule is simple: save what is yours, or what you have permission to save. Reposting or monetising someone else’s work without their consent is what generates complaints like these, and our Terms of Service do not permit it.
